Loose Mediums
For cheap, passive pot culture you’ll need an inert loose medium mix such as perlite (fast draining) and vermiculite (nutrient holding). Cellmax is another alternative; made from small cubes of rockwool it offers excellent aeration and nutrient holding capabilities. |

Coco Fibre
Coco Fibre offers hydro growers the chance to go organic, and organic growers the chance to go hydro. This wonderful medium has excellent air and water holding properties. It contains no nutrition so apply a specialist fertiliser such as Coco AB. All our customers have found they get better results using this medium than compared to rockwool. Mapito
Mapito is very popular with Dutch container growers due to its' excellent aeration and nutrient retention. The mix of polyurethane foam and rockwool flock ensures the medium never compacts. By the way, the dutch re-use and re-package Mapito - it gets better with age, so don't be suprised by it's earthy smell. |

Rockwool
Rockwool is a popular medium that comes in many sizes. It has a very good air to water ratio and is the choice of top Dutch growers. Begin your seeds or cuttings in the SBS starter plugs. When the roots are showing, pot on into 3\", 4\", or the new 6” square Hugo blocks, and grow them on. Your plant is then ready to go onto a rockwool slab or other hydroponic system. |

Fleximix
An amazing new media for soil and hydroponic growers made from coir, peat, bark, and a bio-degradable polymer. Retains just the right amount of moisture without causing material compression, and insulates against heat and cold. In our own trials, cuttings rooted 2 days faster - no joke! The pre-treated, ready to use plugs measure 38x38x44mm (same size as SBS77 rockwool), and come in a tray with reservoir; alternatively just buy as many loose cubes as required. Use with Gel 4 Plugs for best results. |

Flexi Courier Pack
Sends cutting through the post with these mini propagators containing pre-soaked Fleximix plugs. There's room for five cuttings inside, and the strong case protects against crushing. |

Jiffy
Jiffy pellets are a really easy way of starting seeds and cuttings. Just soak the 38mm plugs in water, give them a gentle squeeze and put them in a propagator. They contain a balanced nutrition so no need to add anything. They are great for soil growers, and also fit into rockwool blocks. The coco pellets are faster draining than the peat - you choose. Jiffy Pots are made from a mixture of biodegradeable paper, peat and starter nutrient. Just fill with Bio-Biz Lightmix soil. When it's time to transplant, the pot and plant go into the soil together meaning no disturbance to the root system. |
