Propagation
Seedlings, cuttings and young plants have quite different lighting requirements compared to those of established, flowering plants. That's why it's better to use a specialised propagation light to start them off. High wattage (400-600w) HID lights can often stress your crop, and this will have a negative effect on production later on. Treat your babies kindly!

PL Fluorescent
Featuring 55w U-bend PL tubes, these units produce a very high light output suitable for propagation and vegetative growth. Much better than halides due to the low heat and superb blue light spectrum, plus far easier to hang. Many growers find they’re just the thing for mother plants. Also ideal for ‘sea of green’ growers up to the first week of flowering. Produces very tight nodal spacing and thick stems. PL 2 tube units (9" x 24") will provide 9,600 lumens for plants in approximately half a metre; PL 4 units (13" x 24") 19,200 lumens for a metre. |

125w-250w Fluro
Get ready for the summer with these brand new 250w high output fluorescent lights. The low heat output offers the dedicated grower the possibility of going through the hot season. Spacially challenged growers in tight spaces will find these a much better option than sodium or halide rigs. Available in both the blue and red spectrums, these powerful bulbs are now self ballasting but need a reflector to run. |
